In the News: Denmark Bans Face Coverings in Public

Denmark becomes latest European country to ban full Islamic face veil in public spaces , Telegraph, 2018-05-31.

The Danish parliament on Thursday passed a law banning the Islamic full-face veil in public spaces, becoming the latest European country to do so.

The legislation takes effect on August 1^st.

The courage of the Danish government must be recognized. This ban is a strong measure as it applies in public spaces, not just in public services. Nevertheless, it is certainly preferable to the complacency and the crass illogic of the Canadian government which not only permits religious symbols everywhere, even in the RCMP, before the courts and in state ceremonies, but in addition even celebrates them!
