Message to our Members and SympathizersDear Atheist Members and Sympathizers,
Whether you are a paid-up member of our organization LPA-AFT (Libres Penseurs Athées — Atheist Freethinkers) or simply a signatory of our Atheist Manifesto, you are a supporter of militant atheism. You know just how invisible atheists are to the general public.
This summer, we offer your the opportunity to exit the darkness in which religions try to emprison us. If you are able, please join us by participating in the Montreal LGBT Pride Parade. This event allows us to show our support for the fight against homophobia, misogyny and atheophobia, all three of which are pathologies propagated by religions. This moment of visibility in the company of tens of thousands of persons will allow us to get our message across. For this occasion, we have prepared (see below) a new banner which we will carry in the parade.
We therefore ask of you, our atheist colleagues:
- Your presence in the demonstration to be held on Sunday August 19th, where we will proudly display our message before believers and non-believers. You need not be a paid-up member to join our contingent in the parade. Please register on our Meetup page.
- A small voluntary contribution to support the cost of our various activities, including our new banner. You can make your donation on our web site
atheology.ca, under “Membership and Donations” and using Paypal for your payment. If you are not a paid-up member, you may also become a member using the same web page.We look forward to seeing you on August 19th in the rainbow parade.
