Religions must be desacralized in the eyes of the population. We must remove from religions that false aura of so-called “goodness” which remains stuck to their skin. Religious beliefs are not only useless for morality; in fact, such beliefs debase morality by requiring childish obedience to dogma rather than encouraging mature, thoughtful moral reasoning. We support secularism, of course, but we must focus our public interventions more on denouncing the unhealthy basis on which religions rest.

We are extremely concerned about his well-being given the increased risk of execution for many protestors and critics in an effort to quell the revolutionary uprising since the murder of Mahsa Jina Amini. As a long-term political prisoner previously on death row, Soheil’s life is at grave risk.
